Denise leverages personal relationships, local knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional customer service when guiding buyers and sellers. Denise grew up outside of Lynchburg and spent weekends and summers visiting Nelson and Amherst counties where her father and mother grew up and her grandparents lived.
A few special summers during high school, she stayed a week with her Aunt in Nelson and worked at a local peach packing shed. That experience instilled a wonder of farm and rural life that stuck with Denise. She came back to Nelson as a young adult when she took a couple of years off college to travel. She spent a winter and spring living in Nellysford with several other wintergreen employees and worked on the slopes and as a waitress. Life then took her to Wyoming, Kentucky, and North Carolina where she graduated with degrees from Western Carolina University and the University of Kentucky.
Denise worked as a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, collaborating with contractors, developers, and engineers to ensure large-scale projects protected natural resources. Transitioning to the furniture industry, Denise served as a sales representative working closely with interior designers, which deepened her understanding of interior design and the importance of clear communication with clients and their important home decorating decisions.
Now she uses her past work experiences, communication skills, and knowledge of the area to help her clients fulfill their real estate dreams! Denise settled in beautiful Nellysford two decades ago with her husband and three kids, who were lucky enough to be born and raised in Nelson county. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time exploring local trails, secret swimming holes, skiing, and biking with her family and their sweet dog!
